Lauren Nicholas, is a founding member of the virtuosic Back Bay Saxophone Quartet. As a freelance saxophonist and woodwind doubler, Ms. Nicholas plays regularly with the Southeastern Pennsylvania Symphony Orchestra, under Maestro Allan R. Scott, and has appeared with the Allentown Symphony Orchestra, under Diane Wittry. As a soloist and chamber musician, she is a dedicated promoter and interpreter of contemporary music, premiering new works for saxophone by established and emerging composers.

Ms. Nicholas holds a Master of Music degree from The Boston Conservatory and a Bachelor of Music degree from Moravian College. Her teachers have included Ken Radnofsky, Neil Wetzel, and Chris DiSanto, among others. Ms. Nicholas has taught in the Hopkinton, Brookline, and Norwood public schools in Massachusetts, as well as the Community Music School in Allentown, PA, and in her home studio. In combining her extensive study of music and graphic design, Ms. Nicholas has built a career based entirely on the creativity of communication. Since 2003, she has been an Adjunct Professor of Graphic Design at Moravian College, and also teaches in the music department. As a freelance designer, she has worked for various clients and educational institutions providing information design and marketing concepts for the past ten years. She currently works with Six 10 Studio, based in the Lehigh Valley. Additionally she works for the Center for Information Techology at Moravian College as a User Support Analyst.
